Mountains: Location and Terrain
Stellar Heli Skiing is based in the small community of Meadow Creek BC, just two hours north of Nelson BC, Canada.

Tucked in a remote part of the Kootenays, this region of the Purcell and Selkirk mountain ranges offers a true wilderness experience to those who come here.

Highway 31 winds north of Kaslo along pristine Kootenay Lake to lead you to your destination: a magnificent, private, heli-ski vacation. The mountains that rise steeply from the edges of the lake are vast and varied, with high glaciers, grand slopes, and open treeline skiing.

The Stellar Heli Skiing terrain is 320 square kilometers of untouched, untracked, otherwise inaccessible winter wonderland with slopes for every skier from intermediate, to veteran expert powder skier.

Stellar Heli Skiing was founded in this valley because of the legendary Kootenay snowfall and the efficient usability of the narrow valley itself. With terrain on both sides of Kootenay Lake and further north above Duncan Lake, fabulous ski runs of 1500 to 4000 foot descents are only a heli-hop away.

This is our playground, and you’re invited.

Snow and Weather
The mountains bordering the north end of Kootenay Lake receive consistently cool temperatures and annual snowfalls of 400 inches. These factors account for the epic Kootenay powder worth questing for.

With mountains reaching up to 10,000 feet in elevation we have light dry powder even into the warmer months of spring.
