Over 1 metre of snow in the last week and more to come!
November 18, 2015
Weather can be really exciting, especially when it means you’re going to get some powder turns!
The 2015 season in Kaslo, BC has started off nicely, with well over a metre of settled snowpack in the upper mountains. With all the hype about the El Nino weather patterns you kind of wonder what is happening? Well here in the Stellar Helskiing tenure we have above average amounts of snow for this time of year. In seasons past we would typically see under 100cm at this time. Well not this year! This last week we saw three major storm waves. The first brought in 45cm, and then 35cm, and the final wave had 55cm for a total of 135cm.
During early season recon we have been sticking to the close by Milford zone, with great tree skiing and lots of aspects to choose from. Yes, the North and East tree runs were deep. At the tops of Sunnyside and South drop we were seeing Snowpack totals of 150- 200cm.
Here is a look at Milford South and how the snow is stacking up.
