Stellar Welcomes Lee Usher
March 7, 2016
We are stoked to officially welcome Lee Usher to the Stellar Heliskiing Team!
Lee has lived in Nelson for 20 years. A proud to member of the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides and the Canadian Avalanche Association for 18 years, Lee has guided for many companies across the province including ski touring, helicopter and snowcat skiing.
Lee loves to get to know a mountainous area intimately, but he also loves to explore new snowpacks and terrain. He has run heli and snowcat programs as Operations Manager and Lead Guide, but lately he finds the time commitment is out of balance with his family needs. His priorities now focus on skiing more and managing less.
Lee loves to ski with his family, at Whitewater, he finds it as much fun as heliskiing. As a family, they also love sailing, camping, and riding trials motorcycles together. He describes his family as the best part of his world.
Lee has spent a lot of time glading and doing forestry work making some of the best skiing on the planet even better. His falling experience combined with a background in Civil Engineering and past Lead Guide position at Baldface has enabled him to be involved in the Super/Ultra Natural Redbull event. Lee also likes the finer things in life; fine wine, good beer and Oso Negro coffee.
