Booking Information

BOOKING POLICIES

Due to the nature of heliski vacations, bookings must be confirmed well in advance of your trip. Before we can accept a deposit, all guests are required to sign a Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks and Indemnity Agreement.  By paying your deposit to confirm your booking at Stellar Heliskiing, you are agreeing to our Terms and Conditions below.  Your deposit will become non-refundable in accordance with these Booking Policies. Please buy Trip Cancellation and/or Interruption Insurance by doing so you may be able to recoup non-refundable fees associated with your ski package. 

A non-refundable deposit of 20% is required to secure multiday and single day bookings. The remaining balance is due by November 1st. All prices are in CAD and payable to Stellar Heliskiing. For bookings made after November 1st, full payment is required at the time of booking. If payment deadlines are not met, Stellar Heliskiing reserves the right to cancel the reservation without further notice.  Accepted payment methods include Visa, MasterCard, American Express, bank wire transfer, and e-transfer (Canada Only).

CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations by Guests

For your reassurance, Stellar Heliskiing strongly suggests you purchase Trip Cancellation Insurance.

If you need to cancel your reservation, written notice is required and must be sent by email to

Cancellations received on or prior to October 31st are eligible for a refund less the initial non-refundable deposit.  Cancellations made on or after November 1st are non-refundable, and all payments will be retained by Stellar Heliskiing.

If you cancel after the full payment deadline of November 1st and have not purchased Trip Cancellation Insurance, you may be able to recoup some of your trip cost by finding a replacement for your spot.  In this case, you are responsible for finding a suitable replacement guest for your trip. 

  1. A canceling guest may nominate in writing a replacement adult heliskier for their booking.
  2. SHS must approve the replacement guest and reserves the right to refuse a nominated replacement.
  3. SHS will collect payment for the replacement guest before refunding the canceled guest. The eligible refund will be reduced by the non refundable deposit plus 5% of the total pre-tax booking as a service charge. 
  4. If financial arrangements remain between the guest and their replacement guest, SHS is happy to make this change without applying a service charge; HOWEVER, please note, SHS has made no binding commitment with the replacement guest and therefore no credit or refund will be given in the event of cancellation due to weather or other reasons. 
  5. SHS has no responsibility to, nor provides any assurance of finding a replacement on behalf of the guest.  However, if SHS is able to confirm a replacement, we will credit the balance of the account, less the non-refundable deposit plus 5% of the pre-tax booking as a service fee towards a future booking at SHS. If no replacement is found, no future credit will be provided.

If you do not purchase trip cancellation insurance and we cannot resell your trip, we reserve the right to fill the seat with a staff member or partner. In this case, no refunds will be provided to you. There are no exceptions to our policies, so we strongly suggest that all guests purchase trip cancellation insurance.

Cancellation by Stellar Heliskiing 

Both SHS and our guests share the risks associated with unforeseen circumstances that may result in a cancellation. Heli-skiing is a dynamic mountain experience that depends heavily on weather, snowpack, and operational conditions, all of which can change quickly.

Stellar Heliskiing reserves the right to cancel any portion or the entirety of a package at any time—whether days in advance or on the morning of the trip—for reasons including, but not limited to: weather, snow or avalanche conditions, operational or mechanical issues, staffing availability, pandemics, emergency situations, or insufficient bookings.

In the event of a cancellation, SHS will issue a credit to the guest’s account for a future trip, less an administration fee of $250 per cancelled day. This fee helps offset staffing and operational costs that have already been committed to your heli-skiing trip.

Every reasonable effort will be made to avoid cancellations, and if one becomes necessary, SHS will provide as much notice as possible.

SHS is not responsible for any additional travel-related expenses, including airfare, transportation, accommodation, or other costs incurred in connection with your trip.

Please review our Cancellation Policies carefully, as they are strictly enforced and no exceptions can be made. For this reason, we strongly recommend purchasing trip cancellation insurance. In the event your trip is cancelled, you may be able to recover the full value of your trip, as well as certain additional expenses, by submitting a claim with your insurance provider.

All refunds will be processed in Canadian Dollars (CAD) and issued only to the original form of payment. Refunds cannot be applied to incidental charges incurred during your stay, including alcoholic beverages, massage services, or retail purchases. Additionally, refunds will not be adjusted to reflect any changes in exchange rates between the time of payment and the time the refund is issued.

VERTICAL GUARANTEE

Single Day Heli 

Our Day Heli program is based on the number of runs skied.  Because heli operations require aircraft, guides, and staff to be committed in advance, refunds are determined by how many runs are completed if a day is shortened or cancelled due to conditions. 

If 0 – 1 Run Is Completed you will receive a full refund or credit to apply to a future trip less a $250 CAD admin fee.                                                                                                            This fee helps cover staffing and operational costs already in place for your day.

If Fewer Than 6 Runs Are Completed

If we’re able to ski but don’t reach the full 6 run day, refunds or credit for a future trip are issued as follows:

  •        0 runs: full refund, less $250 admin fee
  •        1 run:  $1,750 refunded
  •        2 runs: $1,400 refunded
  •        3 runs: $1,050 refunded
  •        4 runs: $700 refunded
  •        5 runs: $350 refunded

($350 per run missed)

Multi Day Heli 

Our multiday programs include unlimited vertical but sometimes mother nature doesn’t always cooperate! As a result, we guarantee a minimum of 3,000 metres per day cumulative for multi day trips. Vertical refunds are given only for mechanical delays or inclement weather and will not be given for any unused part of a package due to physical and skiing abilities.

If Stellar Heliskiing has a partial down day or cancels a portion of your day during a trip, at the end of your scheduled trip the total vertical you have skied will be calculated. If the total cumulative vertical skied is less than SHS’s 3,000 vertical meters per day cumulative guarantee, you will be issued a refund or credit at the rate of $400 per 1,000 meter shortfall. 

We do not give refunds based on a lack of physical fitness or a willingness on your part to return early. If you are instructed to stop skiing because we (in our sole discretion) determine that you are not physically fit or able, no refund will be provided, even if the run minimum is not met.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

Stellar Heliskiing includes Emergency Medical Insurance as part of your ski package. This includes Helicopter ambulance and/or evacuation insurance. This coverage will only be in place while you are our guest at Stellar Heliskiing.  No one ever plans to need medical care while away; but if you do experience misadventures on your vacation, Emergency Medical Coverage can cover ambulances, hospitalization, surgery, prescriptions, emergency transportation home and more.  All claims require you to be seen by a physician. We also recommend personal insurance to cover loss of baggage, skis, etc due to airlines or unforeseen accidents.  Your homeowners insurance may not be enough.  Make sure your insurance covers you while you are in Canada.  No refunds are given due to illness or injury.  Stellar reserves the right to resell the seat or fill it with a staff member or partner.  In the case of either, no reimbursement will be given to the guest.

TRIP CANCELLATION/INTERRUPTION

Please note that deposits are non refundable.  Purchasing trip cancellation/interruption insurance is highly recommended.

Stellar Heliskiing makes significant commitments to guides and helicopter suppliers to ensure guests’ holidays will be the best ever. 

We understand that occasionally events occur that prevent you from joining us for your vacation.  Life is full of surprises and so is travel! You can’t predict a missed flight connection, loss of baggage, skis, etc, job loss, death of a family member or your own early season ski injury.  Trip Cancellation/Trip Interruption reimburses travel costs if your trip is cancelled before you leave or disrupted after it has begun. Be prepared. Buy insurance in case an unforeseen interruption prevents you from going on holiday. For your peace of mind and to avoid any financial hardship an unexpected cancellation could cause, Acera Insurance has arranged for cancellation/interruption insurance coverage, especially for your holiday package with Stellar Heliskiing.

LIABILITY WAIVER

In spite of all safety precautions, accidents can happen.  This is part of the intrinsic risk of backcountry skiing.  Before we can invite you to explore our terrain with us, you must sign our liability waiver acknowledging that you understand and accept the risks involved with heliskiing.  Please review our digital waiver and feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

SKIING WITH MINORS

Stellar Heliskiing requires that guests need to be a minimum of 14 years or older to heliski with us.  Guests between the ages of 14 and 18 years old must ski with a parent or guardian at all times.  A waiver for the minor must be signed by the parent or guardian that will be skiing with them.  All minors must be strong, competent advanced level skiers or boarder with prior experience in powder and backcountry conditions. Prior experience with avalanche equipment is preferred.

IMAGE RELEASE

Stellar Heliskiing reserves the right to use images (including any motion picture or still photographs) for any purposes in connection with promoting Stellar Heliskiing and its activities.  You understand that your personal information, including images, are being collected pursuant to section 26 of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, R.S.B.C. 1996, c. 165.

DISCLAIMER

Stellar Heliskiing Ltd. reserves the right to make modifications to the booking, cancellation and refund policies with or without notice to you.  Any such modification will be effective immediately upon public posting.  It is your responsibility to review the Booking Polices for updates or changes.

FUEL SURCHARGE

We reserve the right to add a fuel surcharge to any of our ski packages. The prices of ski packages are determined months in advance before fuel costs are known. As this is one of our single greatest costs, we may be forced to add a fuel surcharge should the cost of fuel exceed our estimates.
